The short film The World (Mika Taanila, 2017) is screening at the brand new festival Taidekaupungin elokuvajuhlat in Mänttä 18-19 October, 2025.

The programs “Elo/kuva” are curated by Alina Mänttäri and feature short films directed by visual artists.

The World is screening at “Elo/kuva 2” on Saturday 18 October 16:30 at Kino Säde and on Sunday 19 October 11:00 at Kivijärvi-sali.

Failed Emptiness (dir. Mika Taanila, 2024, 66 min) is screening at the 25th New Horizons Film Festival in Wroclaw, Poland. The program section “Lost, Lost, Lost” features experimental slow cinema, hybrid documentaries, convention-defying features, and film essays – curated by Agnieszka Szeffel, Mariusz Mikliński, and Mariusz Wojas.

Failed Emptiness screens three times in cinema NH during the festival between Sunday 20 and Friday 25 July and is available for online viewing until August 3, 2025 (geoblocked to Poland).

The program “In The World of Tomorrow” features also experimental short music films by Erkki Kurenniemi and Jan Bark.
