CLEANING TAPES (2015)
January 1, 1970Three tape loops spin in reel-to-reel tape recorders. The piece is inspired by the idea of weekly housecleaning as mechanical music. These field recordings of an everyday chore have been reworked into a musical fantasy.

CONSTRUCTORS at The Biennial of the Moving Image (BIM) in Buenos Aires, Argentina ( )
September 13, 2020 - October 31, 2020The Biennial of the Moving Image (BIM) in Buenos Aires is not taking place in its physical form this autumn due to Covid-19. For the current online edition BIM commissioned short video pieces from artists who had participated in previous editions of the event. Mika Taanila’s contribution is a miniature video work entitled Rakentajat (“Constructors”).
