January 1, 1970
Field-recording at Ekin Muovi plastics plant in Virtasalmi.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Futuro House (est. 1968) year, artist and filmmaker Mika Taanila created a multi-channel sound installation Plastic Heart. Taanila composed the artwork using only authentic sounds associated with fibre-reinforced plastic – the material from which the Futuro is fabricated.

Plastic Heart was a part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Futuro house at Exhibition Centre WeeGee from 17 August to 16 September 2018.
