Failed Emptiness screens three times in cinema NH during the festival between Sunday 20 and Friday 25 July and is available for online viewing until August 3, 2025 (geoblocked to Poland).

The film Futuro – A New Stance for Tomorrow (dir. Mika Taanila 1998, produced by Kinotar) is featured in the group exhibition “Was wäre wenn? Vom Spekulieren und Handeln für die Zukunft” at Kornhausforum in Bern, Switzerland. The show runs from November 28, 2025 until February 1, 2026. Curators: Nicolas Kerksieck und Katrin Weilenmann.
Mika Taanila’s short films Patent Nr. 314805 (2020, produced Testifilmi) Sommerreise (2006, 3 min, silent 16 mm) and Optical Sound (2005, produced by Kinotar) and the music video “Boardroom Walk” (1998, produced by Bare Bone Business) for 22-Pistepirkko are screening at OMVF Oulu Music Video Festival on 21-24 August 2025. The program “In The World of Tomorrow” features also experimental short music films by Erkki Kurenniemi and Jan Bark.
Mika Taanila’s solo exhibition “Kadonneet” is on show at Galleria Uusi Kipinä in Lahti May 21 until June 8, 2025.

Finnmark Flicker – Experimental cinema and moving images week take place on 19-24 May 2025. The remote northern town of Kirkenes will become an entertaining, educational and nurturing communication environment. The screenings will take place at the main cinema hall of Kirkenes – Aurora Kino, as well as unconventional spaces in Sør-Varanger: the library, the old shops, the former hospital and the repairing workshops.
