The original Finnish language version of Mika Taanila’s film Mannerlaatta (2015, 74 min) is screening at Savonlinna International Nature Film Festival on Thursday 19 August 2021.
The event is co-organized by the film festival and Savonlinnan Uusi taidemuseo (SLUT) takes place at Kulttuurikellari at 19h. Free entrance.
The short film Futuro – A New Stance for Tomorrow (dir. Mika Taanila, 1998, 28 min) is part of the exhibition “Flexibilité” at The Museum of Architecture (Maison de l’Architecture MA) in Geneva, Switzerland from 22 September until 3 October 2021.
“Flexibilité” is curated by Simon Lamunière. Participating artists: Davide-Christelle Sanvee, A.Luna (Adiff) Ecocapsule, N55, Z-Triton, Mika Taanila, PAO Conférences de Michel Agier, Fiona Meadows, Saskia Cousin, Carla Juaçaba, Aigrs Lauzis and Holz&Gonzalez. The group exhibition is part of a larger project called Open House.

The short film Failed Emptiness. Time (2021, 14 min) is selected for the International Competition Selection at the 6th MIEFF in Moscow, Russia. The festival runs from August 11 to 16, 2021.
The exhibition presents a wide selection of works The Niemistö Collection – a private, constantly accumulating collection of contemporary art, deposited in the Hämeenlinna Art Museum. The exhibition is open from 9 June until 26 September 2021.
